We Belong Together: The Banana-Nilla Love Story

The inner foodie in me is still confused (and honestly a little offended) that there hasn’t been a true flavor marriage between Nilla Wafers and bananas.

If you were lucky like me, you grew up watching your mom make the most unforgettable banana pudding. No shortcuts, no jell-o packets, just real, layered magic. And while some folks go crazy over the chilled version, my mom? She made it hot. Warm, rich, straight from the oven, incredible…the kind of dessert that could have you reconsidering your life choices just to get another bite.

So tell me why a banana-flavored Nilla Wafers doesn’t exist yet? It’s long overdue. To the point I need a light crisp version too.

Every time I think about it, I hear Mariah Carey in my head singing “We Belong Together.” And there I am, standing in the snack aisle holding a box of imaginary banana Nilla Wafers like, “Yes…yes you do.” Full Beyonce fan mode - wind blowing, dramatic stance, all of it.

You can’t tell me this hasn’t been thought through.
